Forest is betrothed to Cain, A Raven Warrior. The Ravens of the Bran Clan are shifters that shift into human form. In her human form she meets Sir Aedan, A Mortal Warrior. The Raven Warriors are melded to Mortal Warriors who are picked by Odin. The purpose of the Raven Warriors is to help and protect their Mortal Warrior that they are melded to. Odin melds Philena to Aedan. During their journey she appears to him in her human form, even though it is forbidden.
During their journey Philena must make a decision to honor her clan and be bounded to Cain, who is showing he has an ulterior motive for being matted with her or Aedan, which would cause her to be exhiled or worse from her clan.
Aedan must decide if he can accept Philena as a shifter and believe in love.
