Guardian of Paradise by W.E. Lawrence

Guardian of Paradise by W.E. Lawrence
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Kira, our heroine, is a strong female character who is beautiful and loyal to a fault. She is naive as child in a lot of ways even though she is actually in her twenties, but she is skilled in life lessons learning from her parents before they passed and from the islanders. She loves the islanders as her family and will do anything to protect them and their beautiful home.

Trevor Marshall is a handsome and wholesome young man who is on the adventure of his life getting to explore the island for plants for treatments of disease. He sees the world as good and is a bit clueless as to the bad people in the world. He is passionate about his profession. The local children fall in love with him and he with them.

Their romance is sweet and a little steamy. It is definitely an adventure with mystery and deception all in a beautiful setting. This was a fun adventurous read.

For the most part the story flowed …

Imperfectly Matched! by M.J. Fields
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I'm so excited that I got to read Imperfectly Matched right after I finished Match This. I don't think I've had two books that I've enjoyed more.
After getting to know Kat and Ricco in Match This I definitely wanted more.

Kat portrays such a tough persona that she keeps people at a distance. I think she does it to protect herself from being hurt. Ricco sees right through her. It's not very often that you get someone that actually 'gets' you.

Kat's match ups through the Dating Website are absolutely hilarious. She is so snappy and fast with the comebacks. There are parts in this book that I had tears streaming down my face because I was laughing so hard.

Throw in Natalia, Ricco's sweet and precious little girl and this book is absolutely perfect.

Love that Ricco and Kat get their happily ever after.

I really hope that the author, MJ, continues with the stories of the o…

Hidden by Stephanie St. Klaire
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Hidden is the 2nd book in the McKenzie Ridge Series. I have been counting down the days for the release of this book as soon as I finished Rescued, the first book in the series.

The author has a way of pulling you into the book that has you anxiously turning pages and loosing sleep to finish it and when you've finished you're actually let down because you never wanted it to end.

Colton is everyone's dream guy...hot firefighter who is a natural caretaker. You can tell that right from the beginning when you meet his horde of animals.

Megan has moved to McKenzie Ridge with her nephew. The attraction between Colton and Megan is instant and grows stronger by the day. Megan does her best to fight that attraction because she knows it could mean danger and heartache for Colton.

This book has it all, the characters are great, there is chemistry, there is intrigue, there is danger, there is seriously some …

Bittersweet by Sarina Bowen

What a great start to a new series! Bittersweet is set in Vermont and it sounds absolutely beautiful and picturesque. It's a second-chance romance between bearded, grumpy, beastly, sexylicious farmer, Griff and smart-assy, sweet, bubbly, slightly insecure chef-who-isn't-employed-to-cook Audrey. Audrey employers have tasked her to source and build connection with farmers to supply their restaurants and that's how the two meet again - when her car breaks down on Grumpy's, I mean Griff's, farm.

The attraction between these two characters was palpable and watching their relationship develop was exciting. It wasn't all rainbows and unicorns; the characters had a complexity to them that I quite liked. Each had their issues and/or complications that they had to face and deal with. I adored the whole Shipley clan and other secondary characters and I'm very ea…

Hand Me Down by Christen Gillan
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book was fantastic. I cannot believe this is her debut novel. I really, really enjoyed it. The plot was imaginative and the characters in it were so well-developed. It immediately had me in Kate's shoes and feeling all of her emotions and helplessness at times. Kate was a great, unique character that was so relatable and likeable because she was a balance of strength and openness.

Kate finds herself in an odd situation wondering what the right thing to do is and if she should go with her heart or her head, regardless of the consequences. The dynamics of her family and her sister was something most can relate to full of love, guilt, and drama that just added to the story and didn't distract the reader from the main tale of Kate and her ex-brother-in-law.

I am looking forward to reading more from Christen. I loved the characters in this book so much that I would love to see more of Kate a…

Warning Signs by Alexandra Moore
> > My rating: 3 of 5 stars

> > This was the first book that I have read of Alexandra Moore's. There is definitely a lot of potential here. I think the story is original and the characters were interesting. I did not read the first book in this series because I thought this could be read as a stand alone novel. I think it still could. There were enough tidbits of information to follow what was happening based on some incidents that happened in the first book. However, I think it would benefit the reader to read book one in this series to have a more well-rounded knowledge of where this story begins and the life-changing events that now cause the PTSD that Bea is dealing with.

Bea has a lot of deep emotional wounds that need time and much more therapy to help. I was not sure she if she wanted the help in healing or truly recognized the place she was in emotionally. She showed a lot of vulnerability in the story whic…

Three, Two, One by J.A. Huss
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

*ONE Genius Author

*TWO Incredibly talented Narrators

*THREE Unforgettable characters

PUT THEM TOGETHER AND WHAT DO YOU GET.....A MONUMENTAL STORY.

J.A. Huss I am trying to digest what I have just heard. LOL.
After a couple of sleepless nights listening to both Sebastian York and Ava Erickson completely bring this story to life, I was desperate to reach the unexpected finale. I knew it wasn't going to be all fluffy clouds and pink unicorns but I was totally blown away!
This story is like nothing I have ever come across before, and I am delighted to have download it.

The story takes the listener into a journey of, deceit, lust, passion, sex, lies and ultimately love. But how can Love exist when it's based on lies?
From the moment Blue comes into the picture you realise this is going to be a very heavy and painful portrayal. Having been a prisoner for so long and experienced what can only be described a…

Retribution (The Protectors #3) by Sloane Kennedy

Retribution by Sloane Kennedy
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Retribution may refer to:

Punishment
Retributive justice, a theory of justice that considers proportionate punishment an acceptable response to crime
Divine retribution: retributive justice in a religious context
Revenge, a harmful action against a person or group in response to a grievance

Sloane Kennedy has delighted her readers with another emotional masterpiece.

Fans of the series can finally get their hands in the anticipated 3rd instalment of The Protectors Series. Each book gives you a small glimpse of the next character that would grace our kindles and I have to say I was desperate to read Hawke's full story.

After loosing all that was dear to him on a split of a second, Hawke swears to avenge those he loved. Scared not only physically but emotionally, he promises No to rest until finding those who destroyed him. And now he is the closest he has ever been to achieving his ultimate goal.

Tate has been on the run for as…

Into The Nothing by BT Urruela

REVIEWED BY Kim Gray

Into the Nothing was a book that had me hooked from the start. The way the book started right out with (one might think a conclusion to the story) a mysterious event, only made me want to keep reading to find out more. The story line flowed very well. The 2 main characters were both easy to relate to and I found them very believable as well as the rest of the characters in this story. But with that said Xander is a mystery to Paige, she wonders who is this sweet gentle man that has stumbled into her little corner of this world? I found the other characters added alot more to this storyline as well, making this not just a romance novel but a story about a community of people, all affected by the other. A real mystery novel. When a book gets me so involved with the characters that I feel their pain, happines, fear, or I get goosebumps simply because I am thrilled for them, that's when I know it's going to be one to remember. I was thrilled to the point of …

Imperfectly Matched! by M.J. Fields
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Kat and Ricco are back, running FS - Forever Steel Tattoo Parlour and running into each other, literally as friends with benefits. Ricco takes no prisoner in the bedroom, even the plastic peen! And Kat is loving it too, but it can't last surely? These two are both very stubborn and both want to be the boss. Ricco is happy to give her that title at work, but not when together.

Kat is still on the dating website, and her pursuers are relentless. @Mr.Mister is trying his best to get a date, @baller sounds too good to be true, and @rider1 is someone who is becoming her daily chat buddy. Other characters are back too, and Little Natalia is a treasure to be sure. She doesn't mean to shower, but hey, it happens at times! She is the one kid that can melt the cat!

Without giving too much away, I was really happy with the way this book wrapped up. There is an author's note at the end, and it sta…

This is the first book I have read by this author and I really love the way she writes in this book.

I felt I was right there when Violet was giving the guys a hard time. Violet character is absolutely hilarious. When she first meets Rocky and Sergio you can tell she's terrified and uneasy but she doesn't let that show and gives as good as she gets.

I also really liked how the characters Dmitry, Irina, Vasily, Sergio, Rocky are their own 'family' and it's funny how they play off each other and have each other's backs. I like how the author has described the characters so that you really know who they are. We know that Sergio is a player and that Irina wears the pants in Vasily and hers relationship. Dmitry is very quiet but you know without a doubt if you only had to chose one he's the o…

Legend by Katy Evans
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I sigh in satisfaction at the culmination of this read. A read that I have put off because I didn't want to complete a beloved series. It's done, but it will be re-read again and again; its a happy place. I am not a fan of fighter books, but I am a fan of Katy Evan's fighter books. There's something about the characters she creates in this series, the magnetism of the heroes, the brooding and gorgeousness that just sings to me. Maverick Cage was a beautiful, perfect second to Remington Tate and what made this book so wonderful was these two together. Mentor, mentored, trainer, trained. Those glimpses into the life of Remy, Brooke and Racer were special but didn't detract from the Maverick and Reece's story; they complimented the narrative.

Reece was a truly identifiable character. She wasn't particularly special or at least not to herself. She was normal, kind and it was so good to see t…

One Paris Summer by Denise Grover Swank
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I am a big Denise Grover Swank fan and was so happy to get my hands on this book. Denise is so versatile in her writing that she is apt in any genre. My books are normally mystery romance, but I do love a sweet YA book as well. And you will find it here with this book.

Sophie and her brother Eric are sent over to their father who now lives in Paris, living his dream job. They are to spend the summer with him, his new wife and her daughter. But Camille is not as accommodating with her step siblings as Soph and Eric are. She is determined to make their summer, especially Sophie's, a living hell. Only one thing will keep Sophie sane, the piano. Well actually, make that two things, the owner of said piano, Mathieu. The sweet French boy she meets out on the street after her father's wedding. There is only one problem, Camille. She is not happy that her former boyfriend is now with her step …

Only You by Denise Grover Swank
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Contemporary romance / romantic comedy books are my favourite, team that up with the Author Denise Grover Swank, and I am one happy lady. I have read The Wedding Pact series and absolutely love it, and did too with this spin off series. This is the first of three new books for this new series, and you don't need to read the other, but in my opinion, you will be missing out on some good entertainment. I can see each series would make an awesome movie!

This series is about three high school / college friends that are bachelors, and have sworn off women because they have dated nothing but either shallow Barbies or psycho crazy girls. They decide that they should abstain from dating for six months, but Kevin only lasts one night. He has a thing for his cute next door neighbour, Holly, but it is not an easy progression for them. There are a few obstacles that make dating hard for this couple, Knickers …

Witchy Sour by Gina LaManna
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

If you are a Gina LaManna fan, you will know that she is a very talented young author. I am undoubtedly enjoying this series. It has a perfect mix of mystery and magic put together, with a hint of romance.

In this second book, Lily is still studying hard as the new Mixologist with Gus racking the whip everyday. Her supernatural cousins are around, although poor Poppy has been feeling under the weather with her blood issues and Zin is determined to crack the Rangers test. Things are a bit off altogether with the Mixology book missing, then cloaked men roaming the Island. And just when you think it is safe to visit the Forest, the Fae have other ideas!

A great mystery will have you guessing, thinking ahead, gasping and take you on a twist and turn adventure, and that is what you will find with this book, and series. There is more emphasis on the mystery, the supernatural beings are not unbelievable, and th…

An Early Spring by Ann Lister
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I think it's time I took a break, maybe a spring break, somewhere in Colorado. Because baby there ain't no mountain high enough to keep me from getting to you babe AKA Nick. This story was such a sensual read between Nick and Colby with so many twists, I thought there couldn't possibly be anything else to come but boy was I wrong.

Nick works at a ski resort, he's a mountain rescuer. God, he can rescue me anytime. He is completely gorgeous, well toned and as smooth as they come. He's a bit of a ladies man, definitely a love em and leave guy but without the love. He's not into having any kind of feelings involved. Well that's until Colby enters his life.

Colby a woman who comes off as being angry against the world, it seems she hasn't made the best decisions so far in her life and has suffered through heartache but I don't think anything quite prepares her for the delici…

Bryan & Jase, The Beginning: Something About Him by A.D. Ellis
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I have read books by this Author before. The Torey Hope Series which I absolutely loved but those were an M/F so when I heard about her writing an M/M I was more than a little intrigued. This is a short read introducing you to two of the main characters, Bryan and Jase. I downloaded for free and you can too. It is definitely a good way to see if you would like the full length story that I know is available because I have also downloaded. I enjoyed this introduction so much that I have to read more.

Jase is married, I am not even going to repeat her name because the woman is a heartless b....... Both Bryan and Jase are in the Army spending long lengths of time away from home. Bryan does not hide who he is meaning Jase knows he's gay. Jase on the other hand is in complete denial.

Bryan has dreamed of being with Jase for so long he knows nothing will ever happen. He …

Oh boy!! I couldn't have been anymore ready to read part two of 'Ready for Flynn'. The story continues with even more drama and honestly who knew so much could happen to one person or persons. When in the spotlight I guess that is exactly how you live your life, always having your every move watched. Privacy is definitely a thing of the past.

Valerie is older, wiser and ready to do battle with just about anyone that gets in her way. All she needs is Flynn's trust and she will take him to the top. Many things have happened and while I am not going to give you even a tiny detail, let's just say if you thought part one was good, you are going to love this. I have been shouting out and laughing out loud, quite frankly it's another book that has given me every emotion possible, anger, sadness, happiness, excitement. Ready for Flynn, Part 1 by K.L. Shandwick
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Was I ready for Flynn? Most definitely, YES!!! It was love at first sight on all counts. This story took me on a journey through the life of some amazingly strong characters. Flynn is the guy that every girl dreams of, he can get the blood racing through your veins with just a look. His passion is music, writing, playing guitar. He has used music as a way to get through life, having to deal with some very traumatic situations while he was just a young boy. The emotions this Author has been able to portray are outstanding. I can only imagine the amount of research one would have to do to achieve the level of understanding this Author seems to have while delving into the lives of Flynn and the Darsin family.

Valerie Darsin is a teenage girl with the mind of an adult. She is very self motivated into learning anything in order to achieve her dreams. Valerie's family are very protective of her…
