Spectacular Rascal by Lili Valente
4.5*

This is a *spectacular* standalone book that follows Magnificent Bastard. It's a fun RomCom predominantly written in the (filthy) male POV.

We briefly met Aidan in Magnificent Bastard and I was immediately in lust with the big, tattooed, bearded, potential dirty-talker. Well, let's just say he does not disappoint in any regard. Aidan has agreed to join Magnificent Bastard Consulting to help out his best friend Bash, help out women whose ex's need more than just jealousy in order to move on, and more importantly, he wants to utilize the extra funds to open up a second location for his tattoo business. What he doesn't expect on one of his first few assignments is a blast from his college past, Catherine aka Red aka Polka Dot Panties- a lawyer who is trying to get rid of her ex-fiancé who happens to have ties to the mob.

This book was a delight to read. The characters were ridiculously fun and likeable and the banter between them, particularly from their text and email archives had me in fits of laughter. The elements of suspense added a little something extra to the mix and I must confess that I really enjoyed the cameo appearances from Bash and Penny. Also, the epilogue: one of the best ever!

This is a great romcom series written in male POV and while each book can certainly be read as a standalone, they were both a lot of fun so I would read Magnificent Bastard first if you're considering it. I reaaaaaaally hope Valente considers writing more books in this series because I'm having an absolute blast reading them!

*arc received in exchange for honest review.
