Commander in Chief by Katy Evans

If you haven't read Mr President, please don't read this review. Go ahead and read that first.

I purposely didn't bother reading any teasers or blurb or excerpts for this book for two reasons. One: because I didn't want anything ruined for me and Two: because OF COURSE I knew exactly how this book would play out, didn't I? Yeah, no. I thought this book would be all about Matt getting the girl back and them living happily ever after. The end. It hurts me to admit that I was wayyyy off base in my thinking.

Yes, Matt obviously gets the girl otherwise we wouldn't even be here right now. But the book starts about two months after Charlotte walks away. It's essentially their journey through the White House and with each other, dealing with highs and lows and everything in between. Matthew Hamilton is what every leader should aspire to be and Charlotte every First Lady. I really don't want to say much but this second installment of the White House series captures everything you adore about Evans' writing and more and is the perfect conclusion to Matt and Charlotte's story.

*arc received in exchange for honest review.
