Finding Hope (Finding, #5)Finding Hope by Sloane Kennedy

Wikipedia states that;
Emotion, generally speaking, is any relatively brief conscious experience characterised by intense mental activity and a high degree of pleasure or displeasure. Scientific discourse has drifted to other meanings and there is no consensus on a definition. Emotion is often intertwined with mood, temperament, personality, disposition, and motivation.

After having read this book by the amazingly talented Sloane Kennedy, my emotions were all over the place. I honestly felt so much with this story it reduced me to tears in more than one occasion. There is so much story, so many different scenarios I was exhausted in the best possible way when I finished this book.
One of the many challenges I think Authors encounter when writing series, is staying current and remaining original without deviating from the usual feel and style of the books. It amazes me that this was book five in this series and yet Sloane delivered a totally authentic book with a story so complex with 3 very different leads and still managed to give us plenty of sexual tension, romance, angst and unmitigated passion.

Beck is a 19 year old who life has thrown so many harsh curve balls he is barely exisiting. The best way to describe him is....hopeless. Thanks to his adoptive parents, he has managed to find some semblance of control but he has to go far and beyond to mask his true emotions to avoid disappointing those who care for him. The opportunity of a change of scenery arises and places him in the town of Dare, Montana. A chance encounter on his way to Dare brings Beck face to face with Quinn and Brody, this scene by the way was so erotic it brought chills to my spine. However it is not all fun and games and Beck flees terrified and more confused than before.
Life has a funny way to make sure you end up where you need to be and who you need to be with and soon the three men find themselves in each other's orbits. Each of them have their own emotional baggage, their own monsters and their pasts, but it is Beck who has, even at his tender age, the biggest emotional turmoil and who needs the love and protection of these two men in order to be able to find the hope he thinks he can't never find.

Each and every flashback, relapse, memory, encounter is written in such poetic way that at times you get completely lost in the story, my heart was in my throat, the tears kept coming but I felt elated at how the story developed through the pages and how each of the characters were finding their own purpose. Love and patience play an important role in helping Beck overcome his challenges and it was breathtakingly beautiful to read.

Another flawless book and one that will be for sure amongst my favourites from Ms Kennedy.
